Waste management

All waste must be removed from the island by visiting groups. There are council bins at the Keppel Bay marina.

Compostable materials such as food scraps may be left at the centre.

Visitors are asked to manage packaging as plastics can be deadly to marine life and sea birds. Lolly wrappers are also an issue.

Also hair bands/hair elastics need to be managed and picked up to avoid becoming litter.

Erosion Control

Rubber mats have been placed on the dune entrance to the beach to prevent erosion of the sand as the boat is loaded and unloaded nearly every day.
